Time + Revenue Audit: how to focus on what matters
Next Thursday, everything will be different.
Tomorrow is my oldest son's last day of school before summer.
Summer is when I see a shift in my working hours. Because I have all three kids at home with me.
It's when I ask myself on a weekly basis:
What impacts my bottom line so much that if I don't do this activity, I don't make money?
Then I delete or delay the other crap that's cluttered my perspective and return to that one activity.
For me, that's sending cold emails and pitches.
Not coincidentally, summers have been my biggest months. Both in email list growth and in new revenue coming in.
Because money loves simplicity. And us humans like to make things more complicated than needed.
My question to you is:
If your working hours got cut in half, what would you focus on
Or what if your working hours went down to 10 hours/week?
Or 5 hours/week?
If you don't know what you’d focus on, do a quick time + revenue audit.
Step #1: Ask yourself the following questions for the last six months:
What felt easy? Or hard?
What's my biggest (and least) money maker?
What brought in the most leads?
What did I spend the most time on in my business?
And how much money did it bring in?
Step #2: Go through your answers and find correlations.
Are there any links between two or more of your answers? For example, maybe what felt easy was also your biggest money maker or brought in the most leads.
For your answer to the last question in the bullets above, are you spending your time in activities that make you money?
If your answer is no, realign how you’re spending your working hours.
If your answer is yes, double-down on that activity.
Step #3: What changes do you need to make to your focus?
If you had only 10 hours/week to work, what would you focus on to keep making money?
There's ^^^ your answer.
You're amazing,
Laura
